The Red Star Line Museum is looking for photographs of Red Star Line passengers. Immortalise your ancestors and share your photographs with the Red Star Line Museum. The photographs will be granted a prominent position in the exhibition.

Fall 2012: update restoration

Restoration and construction nearing its completion

The provisional transfer of the building is scheduled for end 2012. In early January another contractor will set to work on the interior of the building. Finally, on February 1st, 2013, Montevideostraat and a section of Rijnkaai will be renovated.

Observation tower Red Star Line Museum

A new star of Antwerp’s skyline

The Red Star Line Museum celebrated the topping out of its tower by placing a tree on top of the roof of the museum’s observation tower.

In the information centre of the museum visitors will have the opportunity to look for specialized information on the different topics in the main exhibition or reconstruct their own, or their family’s migration history. Your donation of 1000 euro will help to enhance the high quality content of the information centre.

Belgian emigrants

In 1890, the painter Louis van Engelen depicted a crowd of Belgian emigrants moving across Antwerp’s Nassau Bridge to the district of Het Eilandje towards a ship. The resident population watches them pass by.
